London Olympics 2012

Surely we have to ask Chris Hoy to carry the Olympic torch to London in the light of his historical gold win.  This athlete deserves the honour and has earned it.  Why allow a non-entity like David Beckham to represent GB when he has done nothing to earn it.  Is celebrity more important than effort and achievement at the highest level, or perhaps Beckham has more influence than we realise.   He has done nothing of significance apart from court publicity at every opportunity.
