- Literature, mostly non-fiction. Vacationing. Linguistics. Science, mainly physics--just look what it did last century (Enola Gay/You know it happened only yeterday/...). We will be riding on its coat-tails for quite a while (hundreds of years) until something happens. Something's gotta happen eventually. I hope by that time we have established a large colony on the moon. Skepticism.

- On advice of my nephew, so we can have something neat to talk about (he's far away), Dan Millman's "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" (thus far, it is a familiar kind of book, but we'll see.)

- Craig Ferguson (sp?). Wish I cd say cartoon channel's Ghost in the Shell, but that'd be a lie, like the often quoted idea that science is primarily a deductive undertaking. There it is. An albino crow! No longer can one say, in a syllogism, all crows are black!

The Sokal Hoax, revealing the prentiousness of New York's Language Literati (in the 1970s I believe) fascinates me. I appreciate science's practicality, show-me-I'm-wrong (really, "Can you show me I'm wrong?") But today science's queen, physics, has became the formerly reviled by scientists term: meta-physics. Imagination is more powerful than knowledge, said the late, great you-should-know-whom. Scientism v. Linguistics. Wish I cd've seen the Chomsky/Piaget debate, but I'm on the lookout for a white crow.
