I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and my home will always be there. I proudly represent Atlanta wherever I go. I think what I love most about Atlanta is that it was built in a forest. It's so lush and green, everything is reaching upwards, it's awesome. I can't rep the A without also repping Southern Jewry, which is certainly the most important reason I'm a Southerner. My father's family came across from Belarus and wound up in Mobile, Alabama, and the Jewish community there, small though it may be, thrives to this day. My mother's family is from Chicago, but she moved to Atlanta with my dad, and so I became indelibly a Southern Jewish boy.
Now I am a rising junior at Brown University and a devoted part of its thriving, growing, loving Jewish community. I'm a part of the Contemplative Studies Initiative (http://www.contemplativestudies.org), and I hope to invigorate my Jewishness with the insights I gain from these pursuits. Music, reading, food, and tea are among my most intense earthly pleasures. Meditation is my favorite activity.
