Will Jesse Jackson Please Shut Up About Obama and Israel?
By JakeRake / October 15, 2008Jesse Jackson, who three and a half months ago expressed his desire to amputate Obama’s testicles, apparently believes that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain influential, but will lose much of their prominence if and when Obama is elected, according to a story in the New York Post.
This is the characteristic position for Jackson to take, considering his past run-ins with the Jewish community. In 1984, Jackson referred to Jews as "Hymies" and to New York City as "Hymietown" in an interview. Instead of apologizing and moving on, the reverend played the always-popular, "The Jews are conspiring against me" card, with predictably limited success. Jackson eventually relented and apologized in a speech at a New York City synagogue.
Jackson’s comments come at a time when politically conservative Jews are trying to portray Obama as bad for Israel and are even linking his views with those of — wait for it — Pat Buchanan and running attack ads featuring the slogan, "Concerned about Barack Obama? You should be."
However, there really isn’t any indication that Obama’s policies — at least since he began running for president — reflect what Jackson has implied. As Marty Peretz noted in an essay in The New Republic, Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden, have both publically declared their continued support for Israel on numerous occasions. Peretz argues that Jackson’s comments about Obama and Israel are mostly just self-serving attempts to remain relevant.

"attempting to conflagrate (sic) anti-Zionism with anti-Jewish rascism"
what a fucking tool.
You just string sentences of neo-con claptrap together, and try to pass it off as serious discourse? Educate me? I know all i need to know about wat you think sport…You and your O’reilly, Hannity and Malkin flavored halfwitted allusions are moronic on their face…why didnt you throw a few references to terrorist ACORN while you were at it…
I dare to question "The One" and I am accused of "rascism" (or even racism).
I wonder what the punishment will be for my "seriously flawed thought proceses" while Obama is at the helm at the hand of drones like yourself?
BTW…it is not anti-semitism to criticizes Israel however it is anti-semitism to attack Israel irrationally with the exclusion of all others like Obama supporters like Jesse Jackson and the Nation of Islam does.
Again, its been fun educating you.
attempting to conflagrate anti-Zionism with anti-Jewish rascism is a tired and old canard who’s efficacy has passed… While it may have been effective in the past, the world is moving on, preferrably without you and your rascist filth. Everyone who condemns your seriously flawed thought proceses dont do so because they are rascist, but rather because YOU are.
Jake
I am glad I was the one (not "The One") who called your attention to Jesse Jackson’s comments. Yes, I know many progressive Jews wish Jackson would just shut up just as Louis Farrakhan (another stunch Obama supporter) wished that the black reporter who exposed Jackson’s "Hymie Town" comments would just shut. Farrakhan said at the time that the Nation of Islam should deal with the black reporter the way a nation should deal with a traitor.
What you choose to remain blind about is that
anti-semitismanti-zionism is extremely prevelent in far-left Obama supporters.Even they don’t give Obama much grief about his pro-Israel lip service because they know he is being less than honest about Israel. She they believe that the Jews run the show, they are willing to give Obama a pass on this (for now).
Has Old Nick shown up in a down jacket to tell us that the First Annual Infernal Snowball Fight has been called off so that winged simians can perform recto-aerial maneuvers? I actually agree with something that Shootingsparks says.
Yes, Jesse Jackson is irrelevant. He’s been doing whatever he can to grab the mike these days. Part of it has been sandbagging the Obama campaign and trying to make himself out as Kingmaker of the Black Vote. It reminds me a lot of Ralph Nader’s campaign finances. Turns out most of them came from Republican organizations in 2004.
Jesse Jackson Sells Out Obama
Jesse Jackson has been no friend to the Obama campaign. When he has
piped in it has been apparently for the purpose of creating racial
discord. It appears he isnt done trying to split the electorate…
Jackson probably made his comments to Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post to
try to hurt the Obama campaign by splitting off the Jewish vote, for a
nice fat wad of Zionist cash…what else does he have going on? He is
irrelevant these days, and he’s probably chapped ass about it.
