Wacko Jacko To Do Islam If Jermaine Has A Say

Rumor has it Michael Jackson will soon convert to Islam if he listens to big brother Jermaine. Taking responsibility for Michael's decision to flee the U.S. for Bahrain after being acquitted on child molestation charges, the star of this past season of "Celebrity Big Brother" said this week, "I was the reason why he [Michael] had gone there [Bahrain] because I wanted him to get out of America and just go somewhere it's peaceful and quiet and people pray five times a day which is beautiful."
In the spirit of Islam, Jermaine's heartfelt advice, and all things wacko, Israellycool has drafted a list of traits Jackson shares with Islamic fundamentalists.
1) Islamic fundamentalists blame the Jooos…so does Michael.
2) Islamic fundamentalists have a thing for veils ..so does Michael.
3) Islamic fundamentalists are not too fond of monkeys… neither is Michael.
4) Islamic fundamentalists are into self-mutilation..so is Michael.
5) Islamic fundamentalists like to hang people…so does Michael.

Hey, I enjoy South Park's humour (mostly the first two seasons) as much as anyone, but if you get your socio-political analysis from a fart-joke cartoon, you really should read more, and also get to know some Muslims personally.
Well Izzy, i don’t think it’s wrong to suggest that, in fact, i belive that is what happens all the time.
I think we might be debating two different things here. Regardless of what it says in the Qur'an, Muslims differ in their level of observance. So it's simply wrong to suggest that if someone is converting to Islam, then they'll immediately become a fundamentalist.Â

Umm, I think that Jermaine is actually a member of the Nation of Islam. So not necessarily a fundamentalist, but kind of wacky nonetheless.
As an aside, he also named one of his sons Jermajesty.
Are you implying that Islamic fundamentalism is the true expression of Islam, as described in the Qur'an? Even so, there are certainly plenty of Muslims in the world today who are not fundamentalists.
The way I understand "fundamentalist" (and Wikipedia backs me up here), it describes someone who thinks that most of his co-religionists aren't religious enough. In other words, you can't even HAVE a fundamentalist Muslim (or Protestant, or Jew, or Hindu) until you have a bunch of not-religious-enough Muslims (or Protestants, Jews, or Hindus.)Â
So the fact that the phrase "fundamentalist Islam" even exists means that there are non-fundamentalist Muslims out there. And I think it's a safe bet Jermain Jackson is one of them.

There's a world of difference between Islam and Islamic fundamentalism. Maybe I'm uninformed, but I'm pretty sure Jermaine Jackson is not a member of Hezbollah.
