The World Is Full Of Terror

By BG / March 5, 2007

Israel's entry in this year's Eurovision, Push The Button, transcends cultural and language barriers, for that matter. Teapacks, the band that performs the song, maintains that the controversial message of nuclear annihilation in their song is one that needs to be heard.

Lyrics include:

The world is full of terror, if someone makes an error, he's gonna blow us up to kingdom come.

There are some crazy rulers, they hide and try to fool us, with demonic, technologic willingness to harm.

I personally think that “Push the button” is about the only one of the Eurovision contestants this year that doesn’t copy ABBA, Evanescence or any other eurovision-way old and proven style.

This is a truely original performance and I simply love the energy these men are putting in this song.

I really hope the song will make it to the Eurovision.

I think Lordi proved last year that there are more ways in the meaning of style to win the contest than another remix of Waterloo.

As a true American, I hadn't watched Eurovision before.  But you inspired me to do some YouTubing, and I maintain "Push the Button" is really bad.  Among the worst.  Others that were really ridiculous but at least sounded reasonable. Then again, I do have an affinity for cheesy bad pop/dance music…

Amy, When you say this song is “really ridiculous/really bad”, I must agree, but I also understand you never watched the Eurovision before…

I'm not sure what to say other than this song/performance is really ridiculous/really bad.  It does remind me, however, of a far better song with the lyric "push the button":  "Galvanize" by the Chemical Brothers.  The beat drops are fucking great when you're on the treadmill.
