Tara Rice Is Not a Cocker Spaniel

Early Monday morning, the Daily Shvitz ran a post titled “Our Newest Staff Member.” Those of us who have been working with new art director Tara Rice for the last two weeks were surprised to click on the title and find this photo:

OK, so Tara, like Kingsley, does have very shiny brown hair. (It’s crucial for the Jewcy art director to have good hair; Michael Morlitz once took an entire morning off to have his ‘fro sculpted.) And nobody can blame Weiss for being a bit blinded by puppy love. But we’d like to take this opportunity to explain that while Kingsley the cocker spaniel is technically our newest member, Tara is the latest official addition to the staff. She looks more like this:

Tara recently fled the constant rains of Vancouver, Canada, where she has worked for the past four years in branding and major fashion advertising campaigns. (You can see some of her work on her website.) She grew up in Ottawa and studied at Vancouver’s Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design, so she is thoroughly Canadian. So far she seems to be handling the culture clash quite well, though she did wonder if the Bloody Marys in New York contain clam juice. Canada truly is a land of mystery!
