Palestinian Politician: Kill all Americans
By tahlraz / May 1, 2007The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), a nonprofit that provides translations of Arabic, Persian, and Turkish media, caught up with Sheik Ahmad Bahr, acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, during his tour of the Sudan.
In a friendly sermon delivered on Friday at a Sudanese mosque, the kindly representative of the Palestinian people made the congregants' weekend with assurances that, with the help of Allah, all Jews and Americans would be annhilated. Some of the excerpts of that sermon, courtesy of MEMRI:
Ahmad Bahr began: "You will be victorious" on the face of this planet. You are the masters of the world on the face of this planet. Yes, [the Koran says that] "you will be victorious," but only "if you are believers." Allah willing, "you will be victorious," while America and Israel will be annihilated. I guarantee you that the power of belief and faith is greater than the power of America and Israel. They are cowards, who are eager for life, while we are eager for death for the sake of Allah. That is why America's nose was rubbed in the mud in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Somalia, and everywhere.
The Hamas spokesperson concluded with a prayer, saying: "Oh Allah, vanquish the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them all, down to the very last one. Oh Allah, show them a day of darkness. Oh Allah, who sent down His Book, the mover of the clouds, who defeated the enemies of the Prophet defeat the Jews and the Americans, and bring us victory over them."

Savage is something you would know about since that is what you support. I left you “speechless” becuae you know everything I wrote is true. I will never have a debate with people who support the murder of Jews and the destruction of Israel. I was tolerant before but I’ve had with genocidal pigs like yourself.
I suggest you go back to commenting on the Hamas, Al-Queda websites where your views are applauded.
Goodness. Nothing like a well-crafted argument from a thoughtful opponent.
Although I often disagree with Jewcy contributors, I’ve never before found their comments dopey or savage. First time for everything, I guess.
I suggest posting over at Little Green Footballs. More your speed.
Go to Al-Jihadzeera and spread your anti-semitic Jew-hating crap there. Arabs are the aggressors and Israel is the victim of their occupation and genocide. These Arabs are not refugees! They have two dozen Arab countries to go to but they want to murder the Jews and steal their homeland.
Everyday these savages spew anti-Jewish hatred and call for the genocide of Jews. They get their money from Iran that buys thousands of bombs and weapons that have murdered thousands of Jewish women and children. These savages also have recieved billions of aid from the international community but spend it on weapons instead of improving their community.
The truth is not propaganda Nazi pig! Anyone who sides with these barbrians, who teach their children from day one to hate and murder, is EVIL! Move to Saudi Arabia and chant “Kill all the Jews” with the disgusting sub-humans you support. You are a piece of trash!
I’m not sure the difference you claim between the two cases amounts to much.
Given the very different political systems in the OPT and in Israel, I wouldn’t toss off Yosef’s baleful presence quite so cavalierly. What you call “unfair political clout” is in fact the predictable, ineluctable outcome of the systematic specifics of Israel’s political setup.
You want nauseating comments from “representative(s) of the elected government and ruling party” of Israel? Let’s leave aside for the moment the sordid history of explicitly racist comments and attitudes expressed by Israel’s early leaders (and the numerous atrocities they countenanced) and concentrate on current events. Many Kadima worthies (including the soon-to-be-cashiered Olmert) hold on to dreams of a Greater Israel and work to make their dreams come true with their unabated enthusiasm for continued settlement of the OPT. Avigdor Lieberman and his allies talk about inducing the Palestinians to leave Israel. No one believes for a moment that this will happen without violence. Lieberman’s remarks are red meat to his followers, who know exactly what he’s talking about. The Likud charter continues to refer to an Israel that includes “Judea and Samaria”. Again, this is an impossibility absent violence.
Israeli viciousness is (often) Westernized, implicit, antiseptic-couched in sanitized language. And it is underwritten by an immensely powerful, militarized state. The sort of Arab viciousness exemplified by Bahr (if his reported comments are accurate) is third world and explicit, and it is expressed by impoverished, armyless, stateless refugees.
I’m always amazed at how the rantings of the powerless are given greater weight than the actual, continuing sociocide being performed by Israel.
Perhaps because good ol' Sheik Bahr is the speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council? That is a little different than one extremist rabbi (no matter how much unfair political clout he has). Bahr is a representative of the elected government and ruiling party of the Palestinian Authority.
This is a massively silly post, Tahl, particularly coming after your first-rate comments re the Presidential “Debates”, which are just the dog-and-pony show you described.
First of all, what’s with dancing quotes? Are we meant to understand only the remarks in quotations as actual transcriptions of the speech? If so, how shall we understand all the other stuff (i.e., the main body of the piece)? If this is a direct quote, why wasn’t the whole thing in quotation marks?
Second, as I’m sure you know, Memri is the creation of Yigal Carmon, a former IDF intelligence officer. The guy’s a propagandist by training. And despite its rather wholesome and antiseptic mission statement about bridging the gap between the West and the Middle East, it never-never-reports anything even remotely unflattering about Israel. So it’s basically a Zionist propaganda organ.
Third, assuming that the quote you cited is accurate (and, given the very idiosyncratic punctuation and Memri’s obvious political agenda, this is for me by no means a given), one has no problem finding morons to quote from either side. I assume, for example, that you are aware of the lovely sentiments of Israel’s Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, who called on the Almighty to “annihilate” the Arabs-all of them. You probably won’t find that one on Memri’s list of infamies.
Shall we trot out Rabbi Yosef to demonstrate the workings of the Israeli mind? Does this illuminate anything?
As I said, a silly post.
