Obama Crushes Hillary, Wins Kennedy Endorsement

By Marty Beckerman / January 28, 2008

Over the weekend Sen. Barack Obama crushed Sen. Hillary Clinton in the South Carolina Democratic primary. Pundits are hailing Obama's victory speech (below) as one of his very finest — it's infinitely more impressive than those "uhhhhhhh"-ridden debate performances. Now Sen. Ted Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy, JFK's daughter, have endorsed Obama.

The Clintons will change focus from attacking Obama — clearly a losing strategy — to reminding voters of America's economic prosperity in the 1990s. But it might be too late. A Clinton campaign worker tells me: "Super Tuesday really is going to be a nightmare…"

A nightmare? Wasn't it a "fairy tale" a couple weeks ago?

but good comment, thank you. Even if Anon knows all this and was just spoofing, there's just no hearing this too often:

first off, Black men, white women and women of color all have minds and
vote based on who they think is best for the nation. They do not
simply follow blindly based on skin tone or genitalia. you forget that
white Americans have been the ones most prone to voting for who looks
    like them.

but i am going to respond seriously.  sue me.

first off, Black men, white women and women of color all have minds and vote based on who they think is best for the nation.  They do not simply follow blindly based on skin tone or genitalia.  you forget that white Americans have been the ones most prone to voting for who looks like them.

secondly, bill clinton was called "america's first black president" because of how well he resonated with the African American community.  Clearly this is the case no longer, as too sense points out at jackandjillpolitics.blogspot.com and halfricanrevolution.blogspot.com, Black Americans voted against clinton as if they were voting against bush.  the clintons, especially bill, have been guilty of race baiting throughout this whole campaign, most egregiously before and immediately after the SC primary.

To add delicious irony to me taking this post way too seriously:  Toni Morrison, the famous African American woman author who called bill clinton that to begin with, has come out in support of Sen. Obama.
