Chavez Loses Constitutional Vote

 

In a stunning rebuke, the wannabe strongman is denied an extended term and other changes in the government that wound have created “communal property” and allowed for the suspension of civil liberties.

 

Putin's Party Wins Russia Election

 

In contrast to Hugo, Vlad Putin was able to win by a large margin and continue his trend towards an authoritarian regime. There have been calls from opponents that this was a rigged election and the Bush administration has called for an investigation into the irregularities.

 

Democrat Candidates Blame Party for Inaction

 

On the campaign trail the rhetoric is heating up against the Democrat-controlled congress by candidates of that same party. Faulting our continued presence in Iraq, No Child Left Behind, lack of children’s healthcare, the candidates are now running against themselves in what could turn into a very nasty election.

 

Imus Returns

 

Today is the return of Don Imus, who was fired after making some derogatory remarks about the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team.

 

Israel frees 429 Palestinian prisoners

 

The released are part of a bid to buy peace by Israel even though the history of such is grim.
