Marc Jacobs is planning a line that strays from the skinny mini tradition of the company to provide hot couture for luscious ladies.

In several tweets, Jacobs’ business partner Robert Duffy announced the pending project. "We gotta do larger sizes…As soon as I get back to NY. I’m on it! It will take me about a year."

An interesting change, considering that this past February, New York Magazine found Duffy tweeting, "Few people buy the largest size in Marc Jacobs stores-a 14-while 2 to 6 is the most popular. The label makes size 16, but no one buys it, so stores don’t carry it."

Looks like they’ve since reconsidered the economics; giving us hope that the September issue of Vogue may proclaim that zaftig is the new black.
