Here are today’s top stories in no particular order:

  • Unemployment has hit a three year high in Japan, reaching 4.4 percent in February. The rate of unemployment in the U.S. for February was 8.1 percent.
  • Grocery company Kroger is recalling pistachios after arising concerns that they may be infected with salmonella. The pistachios in question were sold in mid-December.
  • World leaders are heading to London for the G20 Summit. One of the main topics for discussion will be the state of global finances.
  • If you’ve always wanted to be a drummer for the Smashing Pumpkins, now is your chance. The band will be holding open auditions next week in Los Angeles.
  • An eight-year-old California girl, Sandra Cantu, has disappeared after leaving her home to visit a friend down the street in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park about 60 miles east of San Francisco.
  • 200 migrants are feared dead after a boat capsized in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya. Only 23 were able to be pulled from the water.
