  Any thoughts on the claims by several commentators that MEMRI had completely mistranslated the Arabic in this clip? The head of CNN’s Arabic desk insisted that the clip be removed because the dialogue was inaccurately rendered by MEMRI’s translators. I heard MEMRI’s founder being interviewed by some troglodyte called Glenn Beck.
  The former inisted that CNN’s person, an Arabic woman, didn’t understand the syntactic rules of her native language as well as he did!

  What’s Arabic for “chutzpah”?

  This does raise the general question of MEMRI’s overall accuracy, which appears to be taken for granted by most in the media. Would a “news” service run by a Palestinian former spook specializing in portraying Jews as generally untrustworthy, primitive, etc, be accorded the same privilege?

  Finally, suppose the MEMRI translation were accurate. During the same period that the US media couldn’t stop sucking its own dick over its journalistic heroism in exposing the ersatz Mickey, the World Bank excoriated Israel over its economic rape of the Palestinians, Israel announced that it would build housing for 20,000 outside East Jerusalem, a pregnant Palestinian woman was shot by IDF troops, etc, etc. All these were scarcely reported. Our media went with the mouse instead. Really quite disgusting.

  Cue the salivating hordes ( is it my imagination, or does there seem to a recent spike in pre-literate, spittle-soaked invective rather than the thoughtful, attention-to-argument comments I’ve come to expect here?) to post their accusations of Jew-hatred and detail yet again how sub-human the Arabs are.
