Giuliani Vows Genocide

By Daniel Koffler / January 11, 2008

From the Tampa Tribune undorsement of Rudy Giuliani:

In a conversation with this editorial board, he said the way to end terrorism is: "You get rid of the nation states that support it," opening the door to a host of possibilities.

That's Rudy Giuliani of New York, running for the Cthulu Party presidential nomination — because why vote for a lesser evil?

RL, I think I'm going to have to send you a sketch of my tongue inside my cheek.

The Russian insurgency during WWII was effective only due to the drops of equipment and personnel that the Red Army made behind German lines. The Irish insurgency worked only because it was financed from US (Irish emigration, not US govt. :-) ). PLO was financed by countries in the Communist Block.

In case he does get elected,  he won't have to get rid of  a few nation states, only let them know they are next on the list …

Giuliani as MW said wasn't talking about "genocide."

You are as bad as those jerks who accuse Obama of supporting Jihadists.

How exactly did you arrive at such an absurd conclusion?

As someone who sees his candidacy as one long chuckle, I think, in all fairness, he was referring to regime change, not salting the earth. The litmus test: Can you imagine yourself saying "nation-state" in lieu of "government" in casual conversation? I can. Still, he should be asked what he really meant.
