Fishman–I am here to remind you that EQUITY is the by-word of the socialist–they almost never say they are being fair.  They demand equality for anything and everything that is not equal–equal outcomes for unequal ability and effort.

Equality of opportunity is fair.  But they want equality of outcome which is inherent unfair.

  • Kokapelye

…plotting to take over the world!

Wait, you’re saying communes were nationalist and/or bent on world domination?! Those dirty hippies!!!

  • Jason Diamond

I was willing to look past everything, but HIPPIES?!?!  I hate hippies!

  • Fishman

Socialism must be exposed for what it is. It is a poisonous idea and it keeps re-emerging because it is associated with fairness, hippes and plenty for all. People must be reminded that socialism is either national, or aimed at world domination. It doesn’t function otherwise.

Do not cop out Papa Alex–you do not have to stick to your gun.

At this point in the Bush Presidency–the electorate did something pretty unprecedented in modern history.  The GOP picked up seats in Congress in an off-year election.  By contrast, Obama is so polarizing–so contemptible among the people–clear majorities are poised to undue the damage he has done.

As for your question–the Left wants control and control means the people are damaged. Please consider what happened in the former Soviet Union under Lenin and Stalin.  Please consider what happens inn Venezuela under Chavez.  Centralized control means the people are runined the state wins.  This GREED for power is intoxicating.  Why doesn’t Obama want what is good for America–probably because he does not love America or our ideals.  Regarding health care for example–no one would object to finding additonal ways to cover the unisured or to find ways to stop Medicare from being such a disaster.  Adults understand Medicare is bankrupting an already bankrupt nation.  But Obama is no adult–he does not care what is happening–he does not see it because he believes it is impossible that a Federal program can do such harm.  He is in denial as you are in denial.  Social Security is bankrupt–the idea is unconstitutional–the entire concept is immoral and stupid–it exists purely as a slush fund.  There are ways to help insure all Americans–it is a tiny problem–Obama has arranged it so it is a huge problem and EVERYONE suffers.  He has arranged it so everyone must pay much higher prices for insurance and the quality of care will go down and down.  This has happened in all the socialist utopias.  Therefore, yes, it is understandable that he wants bankruptcy–he wants continual crises because under crisis–the state can take more and more control.

So why does Obama believe in socialist utopias?  He is a poorly educated sick, twisted individual.  He wants what he wants because of his ineptitude and lack of experience in the real world.  He is a commited leftist and please don’t say I create my own reality.  I am no ivory tower idiot–that is Obama’s description.  How low will we go?  He does not care.  As a man of reality, a man of pragmatism–I care deeply that almost 20% of the nation is unemployed.  As a small businessman, I care that all businesses have a tiny group of clients still interested in spending money and when we face the biggest tax increase in 60 years in 2011–that pool of buyers will stop and slow down as well.

Jack Bauer is fictional.  The elctorate must be allowed to speak and it is best to have the kind of good will that honors the people for initiatives that affect the people so directly.  He is not that person of good will.  Bush was such a person–he had no need to get the whole world behind him in his drive to remove a brutal dictator from power–he could have just made the order as Commander in Chief.  He did not.  America always needs that kind of leader who will not trample on the will of the people.  Obama is a Lenin wannabe.  He despises the Constitution and famously said (nothing Obama says is widely reported–it is disguised)–he disparages a Constitution of negative rights and wants a Constitution that gives "rights" to the government so the government can do what it wants to do.  This kind of blank check for the government is the very opposite of the American spirit. His stand against the Constitution brings us legally towards, in the direction of, the totalitarianism of a Hitler or Lenin.  It is the biggest offense imaginable and the people let him get away from it–some assuming that the good will of the past will carry us through his desires–and the desires of future statists.

It takes very little time to create widespread damage and wreck a beautiful thing.  It will take years to rebuild from the damage he has done.

Please do not let him do any more harm.  We are bleeding all over the place.  This is the time to run as fast as we can in another direction–towards prosperity and freedom instead of towards all power to the state.

  • Papa Alex

I guess we’re stickin to our guns on this one. You haven’t refuted anything I’ve said, merely created your own reality. My only question to you is WHY does Obama want to destroy America? What’s his motivation? If its that he’s a socialist or a black panther or a Muslim fundamentalist, then I can only hope Jack Bauer is on the way and quick.

  • David N. Friedman

Please, Papa–I said "irrational"–I must say it straight.

Papa:  the man who single handedly subverted the Kyoto Accords

Resp.  No–the US Congress voted overwhelmingly against this crazy treaty which would constrain only the US and give China and India free reign.

a fruitless effort to privatize Social Security, aradical, irresponsible plan that, after his bankrupting of our treasury and the crash on Wall Street that soon followed, would have cost millions of American stheir economic retirement security.

Resp.  Bush did not attempt to privatize SS.  He attempted to save the program and not end it.  Hence, his plan is consistent with lame, moderate plans to save the worst program ever created.  The Bush plan merely allowed some Americans to take a small part of their money out.  This program now must be phased out completely–now.  No more moderate NICE plans.

bankrupting the country with huge tax breaks for the very rich

Resp.  But this is wrong on both counts and hence irrational.  The tax cuts were scrupuously across the board and gave the economy a huge boost.  Conversely–cancelling those tax cuts will not crash an economy Obama has already driven down the toilet.  Bush brought us prosperity with the tax cuts (his spending caused a deficit–lead by Democratic proposals he did not have the guts to veto).

    stealing an election

Resp.  Of course if was Gore who attempted to steal on election.  Bush was declared the winner in every count and every re-count.  Gore was not a winner in any possible scenerio.  Gore used the courts to try to steal an election who could not win honestly and deprived the nation of an elected President.  The Supreme Court had to step in to stop the efforts by the Gore team to steal an election and finally–Bush was given the nod in Florida that was already certified.  By contrast, lawlessness gave Al FRanken a victory when Coleman won the election.  Franken was able to use ACORN’s illegal votes–thousands of them–to give him a victory that was not there–he cheated to steal an election.  Harry Reid wants to do the same thing.  This is how Kennedy won Cook County and the Dems have a lot of practice on getting the votes of dead people to count.

putting cronies in key positions, where their inept performance led to misery for millions and undermined somewhat important institutions like the Justice Department.

Resp.  What is this?  Like who.  Ashcroft?  Michael Mukassey?  These are superb people.  By contrast, we have people like Eric Holder and his team who spent a ton of hours trying to free terrorists.  He brings in "cronies" like Van Jones, and Elana Kagan who has no qualifications for the SCOTUS except that she LOVES BO–(that is a "crony" or a sycophant) Bush gave us superb justices like Roberts and Allito–two men he did not know–chosen on merit as the best available.

figuring out how to make healthcare available to the 50 million Americans who dont have it.

Resp.  But only 10-12 million Americans do not have health insurance and the Obama plan does nothing to address that problem.  It is a tax bill which ruins the health care for all Americans instead of helping to provide health care to those who do not and would like to have it. By passing Obama care–we have guaranteed that healthcare will be much more expensive and far less available to Americans.  This is Obama’s idea of what is right but it is NOT what his constituents want.  Americans want what the GOP is offering.  They were ripped offed and fooled.  The "benefits" are hidden until after 2012.  This is why this must be repealed.  Over 60% actually want it repealed. It is a scam.

Treasury Sec. Hank Paulson, Sept. 2008, announcing a dire need for an emergency bailout and warning “the whole thing(our economy) could go down…”)

Resp.  But it was Paulson’s leutenant Geithner who prepared that plan and it was the GOP who opposed it.  Obama wanted that plan and he chose the architect to take over and continue it.   he sat back and let Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld take us into a war under false pretenses Resp.  More irrational blather.  The US Congress brought us into the war against Iraq.  Bush had the integrity to have more than one vote in Congress for the war –even though as Commander in Chief–he did not need to get a majority.  He wanted a supermajority.  He got 74 votes in the Seanate and had over 76% of the lectorate in favor of it.  When it is most controversial, he stood for re-election on that war and was re-elected.  Hence, it is more than irrational–it is psychotic to ramble on and on about how America was tricked into the war in Iraq.  By contrast, Obamacare is incredibly unpopular in America–only 34% want it and the numbers are still dropping.  Obama wanted no supermajority–he could care less if it is incredibly unpopular although it affects everyone–unlike the war which is the President’s purview.  Obama did not even want one vote.  Ditto for the "stimulus"  (a pile of pok spending that is more than simply wasteful)–opposed by the people–rammed down our throats.  Further–the left always forgets that liberal leader in England Blair put his career on the line for the war in Iraq–and so did all of our true allies.  Only the left in America and some Arab states did not want the war in Iraq (besides all the regular America haters).  France and Germany came around and supported it. cruelly preaching abstinence to those suffering from AIDS in Africa instead of offering the aid they needed and deservedResp. This is not only irrational–it is sick.  Bush spent millions for AIDS victims in Africa. OK, Papa–you have been refuted–please get a smaller type style.

  • David N. Friedman

Sorry, Papa Alex–you are delusional.  I cannot lie–you believe lies.  Yes, this current collapse of the economy is the product of Dem Policies and Obama’s wish.  He wants to economy to wreck–he wants to create poeverty and unemployment and his policies are designed to destroy.

Test the theory.  Allow Obama to get his way and see how things will deteriorate more and more.  Only by reversing himself will we even survive.  And the second test is public opinion–only 34% support Obamacare which has litle to do with medicine and more to do with raising taxes.  Obama is a poison pusher–everything he wants is designed to poison us.

Bush tried to reform Social Security and was blocked by the Dems.  Now it must be eliminated–and quickly phased out–NOW.  If it is not–we cannot survive as a nation.  It is ann insane program designed merely to create a slush fund for Congress to buy pork.  Now, the cash cow is dead and the demographics kill it because the fund is broke.  No amount of raising the retirement age and decreasing the benefits will save it–25 million illegal aliens will not save it.  It cannot be saved–it is a Ponzi scheme that makes even Madoff blush.

Every  "fact" you have stated is a lie. You need a better and more open mind.  Bush is to be condemned for being so moderate–he is to be condemned for giving the Dems what they wanted in terms of a drug bill for seniors we cannot afford or fully fund, an education bill written by the Dems, and an aborted Supreme Court pick eerily similar to Obama’s pick of Kagan–except there is a rational case for Miers–but only by comparison.  Harriet Miers was a true black spot of the Bush presidency–a clear goof.

If Obama is positive–how come even our socialists friends are giving him blowback?  How come Britain is trying to go in the right direction and are horrified we are going so quickly downn under this President?   Everyone  sees he is going the wrong way and is killing us with his reckless policies designed to harm.  This economy is not simply flat–there is very little consumer confidence–no one wants to spend the little money they have left.  WHY?  Because of Bush?? Huh? We are all afraid of Obama and what happens if there is a VAT, cap and trade, a new wealth tax??  We are all waiting for November so we can finally express our selves so someone will finally listen.  This man is cold as stone.  If the people agreed the problem was Bush–Obama’s Dems would be in good shape for November.  Obama has had amazing luck–all that has happened is that he has forced fed us his sick policies.  Now, we get to vote them down and vote them out.  If I am wrong–the Dems will hold their own.

  • veganesther

Obama stands a very strong chance of being re-elected b/c the Republicans don’t have a viable candidate.

  • Papa Alex

Obama did not create the recession. He didnt. Bush left him with a trillion dollar deficit. This country did not experience a record growth under Bush. He almost managed to bankrupt us with his tax breaks and by not passing any restrictions on bank mortgages. To say anything different is a lie. I never made the case for Bush as a totalitarian, to say that would be to distort my words. Bush was a patsy, a smiling face put in front of the camera to reassure America while awful things were happening/being passed. Everything I said in my post is factually correct. Its not irrational, do you even know what that word means? Seriously dude, wake the f*&% up. Stop lying to yourself by saying Obama created this recession, it has zero basis in reality. ZERO. Everything that transpired in regard to the economic collapse came as a result of the Bush presidency. By the time Obama took office, the stock market had already crashed and Bear Stearns had closed up shop. As for Bush being an honest and decent man, he very well could be, but I dont give a shit about that and thats not a criteria for president. The fact you cite that as a plus for him is sad and worrisome. The man was so inept that you have to remind me boyish charm and his good ole boy texas smile. Whats even sadder is that an atheist cant get elected in America which automatically prevents thousands of brilliant potential candidates. You clearly have an insanely paranoid view of Obama and I hope you go back and take a long hard look at Bush and the things that transpired during his reign, not just at his honesty and decency.

  • David N. Friedman

OK, Papa Alex–I suppose you are actually being serious.  But to be plain, you are just another poor brainwashed "drone" as Mark Levin likes to call your type.  It is truly sad to encounter people who live in an echo chamber with radicals polluting a brain.

I have come forward to say that it is not at this point fairminded to link Obama, Hitler and Lenin as a trio and that despite the fact Obama is pleased to lead this formerly great nation towards totalitarianism–he has not done this and God willing, he will soon be prevented from damaging us further.  This is the difference–an economic collapse gave Hitler his opening.  The overthrough of a monarchy gave Lenin his.  America has a good chance of snapping out of this Obama-created great recession–reverse his initiatives–end his race to sending us to the bottom of the toilet and rebuild again by turning the nation right in the opposite direction.  I am here therefore to break company with my fellow conservatives who believe it is too late, we will soon be facing the kind of economic collapse and total poverty propogated by Lenin and his "revolution."   Unlike them, I take some solace in the fact America is poised to repudiate this sick man–completely unqualified to lead any nation–much less the leading nation of the world.

Alas, I am optimistic.  By contrast, there is no argument–not even any good lies that can justify calling President Bush "Hitler" and yet you, Papa Alex,  have come forward, under an assumed name, to actually do that *not* by simply using the familiar Bush is Hitler accusation but by formulating an elaborate and completly irrational Keith Obermann-style baseless diatribe.

A potential totalitarian who is a statist does not make Obama Lenin or Hitler.  It ONLY means he is going quickly in that direction.  By contrast, A President who ran consistently as a moderate–who was elected not once but re-elected–who was a chronic disappointment to conservatives since he was not a conservative–a man who tried very hard to unite the country–a man of total decency and honesty–even if he was a poor leader and failed to promote conservatism gave us a record level of economic growth, a good tax cut which boosted the economy and brought us to quickly rebound after 9/11 wrecked the economy and was a respectable President.  Of all things–Bush was NOT a totalitarian.  The "Hitler" line about Bush is so-off base it makes zero sense.

I thank the Jewcy staff for admitting this but it would have been good to say it when it mattered–and not simply to give cover to a current President who is looking more and more every day like Lenin or Hitler–he just has not made it there yet.

America is not quiet about what is happening to this nation–sinking quickly with the senseless spending and policies of this regime–we are convulsing.  We cannot believe he is so cold–so oblivious to the fact he is killing us–because he is not cold–he wants high unemployment, high taxes, high energy prices, growing poverty, low productivity, and a nation sapped of hope.  Obama’s "Audacity of a Dope" was rammed through because the Gop ran a bad candidate and many figured "how bad could he be?"  The nation has found out just how bad and they are finally waking up.  No…we are not "All Socialists Now!!"–America–I hope is coming back –it would be an incredible turnaround from the endless morass that now faces us–thanks to Obama’s reckless spending and economic illiteracy.

Next time, we will ask for a resume and some good recommendations. But more so–we will not seek out and elevate a guy who sees himself and acts more like Lenin and Hitler and not at all like Churchill or Reagan.  Even the liberal Jews are catching on–miracles can happen.

  • Papa Alex

If by “modest” George Bush, you mean piloting a fighter plane onto an aircraft carrier, emerging wearing a big fat codpiece while declaring “Mission Accomplished”, at a time when thousands of US soldiers were yet to meet theirterrible fates, then yes, Pres. Bush was an exceedingly modest man. And dont forget this bit of "modesty"- after squeaking by in the 2004 electionby the thinnest of margins, announcing "I’ve been given a mandate by the American people, and I plan on spending my political capital." Fortunately, he spent it on a fruitless effort to privatize Social Security, aradical, irresponsible plan that, after his bankrupting of our treasury and the crash on Wall Street that soon followed, would have cost millions of American stheir economic retirement security.

You say the left compared Bush to Hitler with "NOTHING in mind except to say that the left hates Bush for a hurricane, a war which was voted by the people to prosecute, a poorspeaking voice–whatever."   “whatever” in this case means bankrupting the country with huge tax breaks for the very rich; stealing an election;putting cronies in key positions, where their inept performance led to misery for millions and undermined somewhat important institutions like the Justice Department; orchestrating a coverup of intelligence which would have prevented any concensus from emerging on going towar in Iraq; secretly shredding theconstitution and the Bill of Rights.

It is a sound argument to be circumspectand careful over comparing any American President to a totalitarian socialistor communist.

You say “Except for the fact that Obama is a statist and is pushing policies very similar to those advocated by the 20th C’s most famous totalitarians.  Obama is no clone of Lenin or Hitler–to say so is really unfair.  But is there a perfectly valid comparison?  Sure. Indeed, Obama’s political ideology is related to both of these historical figures.  The way in which he campaigned as a cult figure with huge billboards was unprecendented in American history–sitting for endless numbers of portraits for magazine covers to create a personality cult–very similar to how totalitarians manage their personal image and bereft of any modesty whatsoever.”

You are confusing the man with the media. There were many “unprecedenteds” in the election of 2008- the amount of money raised and spent by both parties; the length of the campaigns; the saturation of coverage. These can all be traced to the power of the media, not to any tendency to megalomania. No candidate- NO TONE- would refuse free media coverage, say on the cover of Time or Newsweek. The historic nature of the election, with a black man and a woman as serious candidates, was the source of Obama’s publicity avalanche.

You say “Hitler and his party controlled the media- a minor difference, I’m sure. There are truly a great number of very valid comparisons between how Obama has attempted to ram through health insurance–in the same way Hitler did in the early days of hisregime–steamrolling objections from the majority.”

Nonsense-German universal healthcare dates from Bismarck inthe 1880’s and the healthcare bill has to pass the same way any other piece of legislation has to, please cease and desist with the ‘ramming it down our throats’ BS echoed by so many eminent Fox News anchors, our health care system is broken and it needs to be fixed. You can partly thank Bush for attempting to privatize Social Security instead of actually figuring out how to make healthcare available to the 50 million Americans who dont have it. Comparing an honest attempt to pass health care legislation with Hitler’s totalitarian policies is so wrongheaded and ignorantthat it worries me that you’re probably not the only one who is making thisludicrous comparison.

“The way in which he sees the people”.

You sound scary paranoid, my friend. I believe he sees people with his eyes, sort of like the way you do.

“But at this point, the comparisons go only so far. Obama is the worst President in the history of America–he has damaged the nation in unprecedented ways–he has brought America to the brink of collapse”

Actually, that would’ve been a man named W- see his press conference with Treasury Sec. Hank Paulson, Sept. 2008, announcing a dire need for an emergency bailout and warning “the whole thing(our economy) could go down…”)

“But he is not at this point–a Hitler ora Lenin.  Not yet. “

The fact that you’re even coming close tomaking an argument for a Hitler/Obama comparison makes me sick and also makes it clear that you have not been paying attention to anything happening in this country for the last decade. Bush along with the CIA willfuly disregarded of numerous reports of an impending Al Quaeda attack and we all know what happened in the months following. I would never call him Hitler because calling anyone who is not a mass murderer Hitler is a imbecilic move but HE was our worst president ever, the man who single handedly subverted the Kyoto Accords, invested nothing in alternative energy sources, allowed corporate polluters to police themselves, the man could barely utter a coherent sentence, sure it made for funny tv but ‘electing’ him (which we DID NOT DO remember?) was one of the worst moves this country has ever made. He let the rich get richer, he enjoyed dressing up as a cowboy and being a very public evangelical christian and he sat back and let Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld take us into a war under false pretenses that plunged us into horrible debt and caused the deaths of thousands of Americans. He lied to the America people over and over again, and he gave thefinger to the justice system over and over again by citing ‘executive privilege’ so as not to have to cop to his ridiculous blunders. He and about six other people made so many catastrophic decisions for this country its pretty hard to keep count of them. They attempted to turn America into some bizarro rah rah Christian country, trying their best to overturn roe v. wade, electing supreme court justices who are making sure not a single progressive amendment will ever be passed again, cruelly preaching abstinence to those suffering from AIDS in Africa instead of offering the aid they needed and deserved, I could really go on and on. He came into office with one the biggest surpluses in american history and left us with a trillion dollar debt. NOT OBAMA BUSH, AND ANYONE WHO SAYSOTHERWISE IS DISTORTING THE FACTS. Obama attempting to clean up the colossal cesspool that was W’s presidency doesn’t make him Hitler and if he’s able to fix our horribly broken country, he may go down as one of our greatest presidents. Here’s hoping.

  • The Notorious Avi

What’s with the "Yobama" stuff?  That has a somewhat racist tone to it.

  • The Notorious Avi

How is it clever?   Using the word "fearful" right under pictures of one of the worst people in the history of the world side by side with the president of this country isn’t clever, it’s a scare tactic.

I’d hate to pull this card out, but Adolf Hitler’s people killed most of my mothers family — no American president did that.  There is no reason for this.  It was garbage when the left did it against Bush (a president I personally despised), and it’s garbage now.  To even attempt to defend it is beyond absurd.

  • Jimmy37

The billboard cleverly compares Yobama’s brand of Democrat Socialism to Nationalist Socialism to Maxist Communism. The pictures aren’t germaine except to remind everyone who championed what system. Yobama runs his White House like a Chicago fiefdom and, together with Pelosi and Reid, want to destroy this country.

  • David N. Friedman

One might be tempted to say "better late then never" after the Left went crazy over calling modest, moderate George Bush–"Hitler" with NOTHING in mind except to say that the left hates Bush for a hurricane, a war which was voted by the people to prosecute, a poor speaking voice–whatever.

It is a sound argument to be circumspect and careful over comparing any American President to a totalitarian socialist or communist.

Except for the fact that Obama is a statist and is pushing policies very similar to those advocated by the 20thC’s most famous totalitarians.  Obama is no clone of Lenin or Hitler–to say so is really unfair.  But is there a perfectly valid comparison?  Sure.  Indeed, Obama’s political ideology is related to both of these historical figures.  The way in which he campaigned as a cult figure with huge billboards was unprecendented in American history–sitting for endless numbers of portraits for magazine covers to create a personality cult–very similar to how totalitarians manage their personal image and bereft of any modesty whatsoever.  There are truly a great number of very valid comparisons between how Obama has attempted to ram through health insurance–in the same way Hitler did in in the early days of his regime–steamrolling objections from the majority. The way in which he sees the people..many things.

But at this point, the comparisons go only so far.  Obama is the worst President in the history of America–he has damaged the nation in unprecedented ways–he has brought America to the brink of collapse and will not lift a finger to help even his own constituencies.  But he is not at this point–a Hitler or a Lenin.  Not yet.

As for Bush–he had zero totalitarian impulse and calling Bush "Hitler!" was so wild and so crazed–it defies description except to acknowlege that this is what the left does to any poltical opponent.

So yes–while that billboard is understandable and reflects the fear that Obama has spawned through his policies–I do *not* believe it is correct to put Obama on the same poster as Lenin and Hitler. The point of the poster is to link Obama with Hitler’s and Lenin’s political philosophy where there is commonality but ignores the fact that Lenin and Hitler were huge murderers and Obama is not a mass murderer.  His polcies may be "killing us" and choking the life blood out of us—but not literally and that is different.
