My bud and lately silent co-Shvitzer Josh Strawn is a member of a very promising band called Blacklist. Fans of Interpol, New Order, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Suede and arcane lefty allusions are encouraged to buy their new EP, Solidaire. (The allusions start with the album art and title, natch.)

I've been promised Ian Curtis' pacifier if Blacklist titles their forthcoming LP "Midnight of the Century," Victor Serge's line on the Hitler-Stalin pact.
