In my illustrations I create a number of characters that I hope not only converse with the casual observer but also with the intense spectator, the spectator whose gaze lies somewhere in between casual and intense, myself (across multiple time lines and dimensions), cats, children and bionosaurs (dinosaur clones that posses human intelligence).
The characters in my work all inhabit personalized and complicated worlds created specifically for them. These fictional places are inspired by all media, specifically the paintings, books and other art I ingested in my formative years (the period of my life I refer to as "the karate days").
Using the conversational techniques of the line and the line itself I can only hope to add to other people's experience of their own karate days.
