Good for Friedman's wife leaving him.  However, I can hazard a good guess as to what will happen.  Because of the hideously unfair halakhot of divorce, which do not allow the wife to initiate proceedings, Friedman will refuse to grant her a divorce.  The rabbinical courts will place him under a ban, or attempt to use civil remedies (if there are any available in NY).  Yet from the halakhic standpoint she will remain an agunah, a "bound woman," forbidden to marry another lest she be guilty of adultery and her future children be considered "illegitimate."  This situation will continue until a critical mass of Orthodox rabbinic authorities say "Enough!" and change this outdated, unfair law.  Don't hold your breath.
