Lindsay Lohan says she's been going to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for a year, but hasn't talked about it because "it's no one's business."

"I just left an AA meeting," the 20-year-old actress tells People magazine in a story posted Tuesday on its Web site.

"I haven't had a drink in seven days. Or anything," she says. "I'm not even legal to, so why would I? I don't drink when I go to clubs. I drink with my friends at home, but there's no need to. I feel better not drinking. It's more fun. I have Red Bull."

So, she's been attending for a year, but has yet to acquire more than a week of sobriety under her belt and we're all supposed to be impressed? Hmm, maybe I wouldn't be so critical if I didn't think she were totally LYING.

What does any of this Britney-&-Lindsay stuff...

...have to do with Jewish culture, Jewish politics, Jewish religion, Jewish anything?  Natalie Portman at least is Jewish, and actively supports Israel.  But from now on, please spare us the irrelevant celeb-of-the-day fluff unless you can find a Jewish angle somewhere.  If I want generic celebrity fluff I'll go to Yahoo! Entertainment, not Jewcy.

Lohan Should Be Jewish

Lindsay Lohan's ancestry - from her father's side, most likely had somebody who was Jewish (Cohen, Dohan, Lohan, among others) - all variations of Cohen, as I understand it. If Lindsay went to a Reform Temple with her girlfriend, she would probably be much more welcome. As I understand it, her girlfriend is from a somewhat observant Jewish family. That Lindsay's father, or somebody in their ancestry, turned their back on Judaism, well, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that he's turned his back on going to his daughter's wedding!
