Gum Blondes

A new look for Pop Culture

Artist Jason Kronenwald, gum chewing fanatic from Toronto, can honestly say he chews gum in the name of art. Jason’s famous Gum Blonde Chewing Gum Portraits have become a huge hit. Jason makes his portraits entirely out of chewing gum, smearing the gum over plywood and using the wood’s texture as an integral part of his pieces. Jason is able to create realistic skintones and hair colors by using many different flavors and colors of chewed gum. With his extensive catalogue including bubble gum portraits of celebrity personalities such as Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, Jason's art truly puts the pop in pop culture! Check out his interactive website where he even keeps his fans updated on what kind of gum he is chewing for which portrait.

putting the pop in pop culture... HI-larious!

These portraits are amazing.  I wonder how he preserves and transports them...could be a sticky situation.

Oh man, I apologize.

Sweet (so to speak)

There was a student at Reed when I was there who did an incredible portrait of the Virgin Mary all out of M&Ms.
