I wish I had continued my education and ordination, despite being an atheist, if only to be able to more deftly navigate this issue...it still fascinates me beyond belief (quite literally).

I commented on the two "rape" commandments (301 and 302) and those didn't get used...I wonder why?  Actually, I'd really like to know why because frankly, those two desperately needed some remixing.  Too political?  Not safe for older Jews?  You know, some of them have been raped too.

Just FYI.

Wow.  This clearly hit a nerve - though I'm curious as to what nerve it hit.  Tamar never made a blanket statement throughout the article.  She never wished she was a man or wished women didn't have to have babies.  She certainly never called it a "torture chamber".  The author clearly stated that Orthodoxy is an easy target for misunderstanding and stereotyping in her first sentence.

What a shame to not get the point. At. All.

On the matzah brei w/cinnamon sugar.

I'll add, pastrami on rye with mustard and latke with applesauce.

Good for you Mr. Neiman.  I hope your idea wins and I wish you all the mazel in the world for your project.

He has just an outstanding amount of chutzpah.  I wish I had half as much when I was his age.  And I was pretty damn chutzpadik then.

"this is why Faith and Stacey (among many dozens who read these blogs and do not post responses since they wish to remain private) have quickly fallen for your encouragement"

Although I am extremely fond of Tamar, I have never used anything she said to justify getting a tattoo.  I have had tattoos for many many years and I have posted the reasons above.

These colors are not tznua.  Also, her skirt is WAY too short.

Didn't do the ring thing.  We also didn't do the wedding thing either.  Just a justice of the peace and I have to say, they've been the best 8 years of my life.

is in my opinion, a really bad one.  Although my Hebrew name - Tikva - which I went by when I lived in Israel - is a "housekeeper's name".  So everyone called me Tiki.  Which isn't much better.  Nor is Fayge - which is what my grandfather still calls me.
