Well put by Alex Chaihorsky and Zachdus. If I may add, I think it would be safe to conclude that Noah Feldman makes a better Orthodox Jew than any of his dissenters on here combined. If you think who you marry automatically disqualifies you, then chances are you along with the majority of "Orthodox" Jews (sad to say, but true) are no more sincere in your religious zealousness than an atheist, agnostic or humanist with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Do you think God's stupid? He's God for Christ's sake.

You are right, a Catholic convert to Islam would no longer be Catholic, just like Schwartz is no longer a Jew by religion. The problem is he never was a practicing Jew, yet bills himself as a Jewish convert to Islam. And a Muslim Neocon who used to be Jewish happens to be a much more lucrative hook (and more palatable to the world at large)...it even landed him a feature on this Jewish website. 

White Supremacists and Neo Nazis read Jewcy to learn the "enemy" strategy, maybe Ahmadinejad will too. Also, he may want to mend ties with the Jews because I hear when he gets ousted, he's planning to get plastic surgery and run for governor of Louisiana as a FORMER mass genocide denier.
