With all of McCain's huffing and puffing about earmarks, why doesn't anyone challange him on his support for Israel.  US aid to Israel is essentially an earmark.  Is McCain forthright about anything anymore?

I find the halachic permissibility pretty weak but since I don't live a life-style so strict to necessitate this kind of rationalizing, I don't have those concerns.

Study Torah and your mate will magically appear?  Are you for real?  These stories are great when they're about the BeShT but the rest the world needs to actually do something.  Staying at home and saving your money will not get you a mate, let alone a date.

Most people have the problem of unrealistic expectations, including Jewish singles, Jews, professionals at Jewish institutions, etc...   The problem with most Jewish singles who have difficulty finding what they are looking for is that they judge themselves with one set of criteria, and everyone else with a much different set.

 

My whole beef with this thread is that I don't care.  I have my reasons for being an engaged Jew and if we agree, great.  If we don't, great.  There are Judaisms out there for everyone, everyone who's not too lazy, not too jaded, not too full of themselves.

Are the Jews starting Messianic Jewish synagogues in order to lure apostate Jews back to Judaism?

You know, we invite you in,  and even though it's a synagogue you feel comfortable because you hear yeshua in the liturgy.  We encourage those without circumcisions to get them, and to keep kashrut.  Slowly but gradually, we mention Jesus less and less, and speak of "sages" and "tzadikkim" more.  Eventually, the deception works and we have Jews observant of Judaism.

 Come on, you can't find these places all over the map!?
