Jeffrey Weaver,

You forgot Al Sharpton, whose record of inciting hatred of white people and especially Jews is well known. Obama posed arm in arm with him, and endorsed him and his National Action Network in the highest terms. A Google search on "Sharpton" and "Freddy's Fashion Mart" should tell people all they need to know about this, and the same for "Tawana Brawley."

Obama also solicited and obtained MoveOn.org's endorsement, which means there are no circumstances under which I will vote for him--not even if the GOP puts up Bush for a third term.

By the way, these are but one degree of separation, i.e. a direct connection.

In 2006, Foxman whitewashed his left-wing Democratic friends at MoveOn.org after MoveOn's Action Forum was overrun (with MoveOn's approval) anti-Semitic and other forms of hate speech.

Then Foxman called Big Brother, a TV reality show, "antisemitic" because a participant made a couple of remarks about Jews. The remarks were infinitely less vicious than the ones made in earnest at MoveOn.

Next, Foxman tried to sandbag Congressional recognition of the Armenian genocide, a wrong-sided and losing action that forced him to acknowledge the genocide. The latter resulted in a diplomatic confrontation between Turkey and Israel, with Turkey blaming Israel for the ADL's recognition of the genocide. Now Foxman has the worst of both worlds: the diplomatic problems he wanted to avoid by sandbagging the Armenians, plus the total destruction of ADL's credibility.

ADL also has yet to reinstate Andrew Tarsy with an apology. Until this happens, no one should give ADL one thin dime of support. ADL may have stood for something long ago but, on Foxman's watch, it is no better than a political prostitute. And by all appearances, Foxman is the political pimp who sells ADL's prestige and credibility the way a real pimp sells a woman's body.

It acknowledged the genocide, but it has yet to apologize to Andrew Tarsy and reinstate him, and it also has yet to withdraw its opposition to the Congressional resolution.

Foxman isn't doing what is right because it's right, he's doing it because he got caught doing something wrong.

Joey, does anyone have Andrew Tarsy's contact information? There is some information I would like to send him.

His qualifications include proven character and integrity, for acknowledging the Armenian genocide. Abraham Foxman comes across to me as a political pimp who sells the ADL's virtue, credibility, prestige, and good name the way a real pimp sells a woman's body. It will take a lot of work to undo the damage this has caused, and maybe Tarsy is the right man to do it.

Re: Anonymous' "So I ask you to do your due diligence about all of the good that the ADL brings to the community beyond the Jewish people, before you call for "no other municipality of good will should have anything to do with them." "

Adolf Hitler was kind to animals, John Wayne Gacy was a talented artist who drew pictures of clowns, and the Inquisition's Tomas Torquemada was a devout Catholic who prayed to God every day before he burned Jews, Moors, and heretics at the stake. Maybe the Grand Wizard of the KKK coached Little League, and went to church every Sunday, when he wasn't out lynching Black people. Nonetheless, I do not think any person of good will would want to have anything to do with any of these individuals.

  1. Acknowledge the Armenian Genocide
  2. Apologize to the Armenian-American community
  3. Apologize to the Jewish community, for humiliating us before our fellow-citizens
  4. Reinstate Andrew Tarsy with back pay and an apology

I have called a couple of ADL regional offices to tell them exactly what I think about ADL right now, and it is not very pleasant. If ADL does all of the above, I will be able to forgive it for this mess, but not before.

Who said ""Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?"

(a) Kemal Ataturk

(b) Abraham Foxman

(c) Adolf Hitler

(d) The Ottoman Empire's sultan

(e) Osama bin Laden

[answer below]

If you picked (b), Abraham Foxman, your answer is entirely understandable because of Foxman's intensive efforts to whitewash the Armenian genocide and sweep it under the rug. However, it was really (c), Adolf Hitler, in connection with his belief that he could get away with exterminating the population of Poland for "living space."

Maybe this will teach ADL that it can have honor and consistency (i.e. condemning hate and genocide wherever they are perpetrated, and no matter by whom or against whom they are perpetrated), or it can behave like a cheap political prostitute, but it can't do both at the same time.

If I lived in the area, I'd have shown up myself to tell the Town Council what ADL has become on Foxman's watch. I will never forget how ADL whitewashed genuine in-earnest anti-Semitic hate speech at MoveOn's Action Forum, but MoveOn's hate speech didn't actually kill anyone. The Ottoman Turks did. For ADL to downplay this or cover it up is reprehensible.

Joey,

My father thought very highly of the ADL, and so did I when I was younger. On Foxman's watch, however, the organization has sold its honor and its good name the way a cheap prostitute sells herself on the street.

Last year, my friends and I exposed MoveOn.org for exercising editorial control in favor of anti-Semitic hate speech at its now-disgraced Action Forum. Foxman & Co. whitewashed MoveOn.org by accepting Eli Pariser's word that the hate speech had been removed, even though I E-mailed ADL reams of hate speech that I harvested from the Action Forum afterward. When I called ADL, I was told that "that was the decision it had made" (to accept Pariser's explanation) despite the evidence that Pariser had lied.

The only conceivable explanation is that Foxman & Co. chose to use ADL's prestige to protect fellow left-wing Democrats from the consequences of their actions. The ADL (now the Antisemitism enabling and Denial League) sold its good name and honor the way a cheap prostitute sells her body.

I have provided extensive details on this to the Armenians, so they can use this to denounce and discredit ADL by showing that this is not the first time ADL has put political considerations above doing the right thing.

On another note, the white supremacist group Stormfront.org is citing ADL's attempt to blow up some Jewish jokes that were made on Big Brother, a CBS reality show, into an "anti-Semitic" incident. We have so far:

 (1) ADL as a shill for MoveOn.org, which it whitewashed for genuine anti-Semitic (and other) hate speech as bad or worse than anything one might find on Stormfront or the Jeff Rense Show

(2) ADL falling one step short of (Armenian) Holocaust denial. In fairness, I can't accuse ADL of actual Holocaust denial because ADL representatives other than Foxman said unequivocally that Armenians were indeed murdered.

(3) ADL is now a stooge and useful idiot for the Stormfront community, again thanks to Abe Foxman.
