Sad stories: The Holocaust isn't cheery
Apropos of Sarkozy’s insistence that every French child learn about a kid who died in the Holocaust, the New York Times takes a look at various methods of teaching ten-year-olds about genocide and concludes that there’s no humane way to do it. Well, right?

I sure don't remember reading Number the Stars at the age of 10 and losing all of my youth and innocence. Perhaps we should wait until college and have lessons on the Holocaust taught by professors like Ward Churchill who seek to convince the masses that Eichmann was basically like some dude in a suit working in a cubicle?
