British prime minister Gordon Brown proposed changing the U.K.'s organ donation system from "opt-in" to "opt-out," hoping to save more than 1,000 lives per year. Patients who have religious objections to organ donation -- such as Orthodox Jews -- would have to inform the government that they wish to retain their innards after they die.
Of course, it's England, so nobody's transplanted liver is going to work anyway.
