The Rest of the Maccabeats Wrote an Original Hanukkah Song

Your move, Stand Four Read More

By / December 6, 2012

While four former members took the pop-song medley route this Hanukkah, the original Maccabeats wrote some original music. Get it?

Their new song, “Shine,” seems to be about doing good on Hanukkah—the video features the remaining Maccabeats getting swabbed for bone marrow donations and helping find donor matches.

It’s nice to see Yeshiva a capella groups finally using their fame for a good cause.

Who exactly wrote the melody and lyrics? Not clear in credits.

this is not new, they have done this before, amongst other tihngs, and besides that there is an organization in Israel, constantly taking swabs, making matches , and i know this as i donate monetarily as often as they ask…….

Glad to see the “Greeks” getting some credit as well. The Greek physician Galen (c. 129-c. 200) was probably the most
influential writer of all time on medical subjects. For nearly fifteen
hundred years his works were the unimpeachable authority on medicine in
    many different lands.

As well as raising money to help with relief after a massive forest fire in Northern Israel.

Pretty critical omission there, Jewcy. The whole idea behind the “Miracle” campaign last Chanukah was to raised $10,000 a day for Gift of Life, and they succeeded.

Thank you, nice Jewish boys for putting legs under your spiritual beliefs. I have been a volunteer for Gift of Life Donor Program in Philadelphia since 1998 when my husband died while awaiting a liver transplant.

“Finally”? They ran a successful Gift of Life Campaign last year, as well. “Using their fame for a good cause” is nothing new to them.
