Reactions To Obama’s Israel/Palestine 1967 Border Proposal

President Barack Obama’s urging that a Palestinian state be based on 1967 borders – before the Six Day War in which Israel occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza – was a large shift in the U.S. approach.
The reactions to the speech were swift. Starting with the Simon Wiesenthal Center issuing a statement condemning the return to 1967 “Auschwitz” borders, saying:
The Simon Wiesenthal Center commended President Obama’s call for further democratization in the Arab world but expressed deep disappointment that he called for Israel’s return to the pre-June 1967 borders.
J Street commended Obama, but did so with a hint of skepticism:
We share, however, the President’s deep concern that the status quo today between Israel and the Palestinians is unsustainable, and that “the dream of a Jewish and democratic state cannot be fulfilled with permanent occupation.” He is correct in saying that Israel will only find security through granting the Palestinian people their freedom, and the Palestinian people will only achieve freedom if Israel finds security.
Two different points of view from two different Jewish organizations. What are your thoughts on the matter?

I think the day that the Ariel settlement was built was the day the two state solution was permanently erased. In my opinion, Israelis, Palestinians and Zionists should face the facts and accept that they are now progressing to a one state for all citizens.
