Dear Delta Airlines,
Okay Delta, I get it: Saudi Arabia bans anybody with an Israeli stamp in their passport from entering their country, even if it’s just in transit. I understand you are just a company trying to cram me on to your really crappy airplanes after you’ve charged me a lot of money to bring my clothing with me from point A to point B. I also understand that you might pee on my clothing, but that is a whole other story.
I know that over at his blog, Rabbi Jason Miller said, “Delta isn’t being forced to include Saudi Arabian Airlines into its Sky Team Alliance. In fact, Delta could stand on principle and refuse to include Saudi Arabian Airlines based on its discriminatory policy,” and I’d really like to think that in a perfect world, that would be true. But I understand you guys are a big corporation, and the dark side of capitalism in 2011 means that you have to deal with Saudi Arabia.
However, I’ve got to be honest and tell you that I’ve pretty much never had a good experience flying with you, and even though I understand your side of the issue, I’m just going to go ahead and say that this is the final straw. I’m only going to say that because I’ve been waiting for something like this to get me to say, “I’m finally done with that terrible airline!”
So, I guess I should say thanks for not dropping people with Israel on their passport off in Saudi Arabia. You gave me the excuse I was looking for.
