The world waits with bated breath to know where Natalie Portman stands on the circumcision question.  Will one of the most recognizable Jewish people in the world adhere to ancient tradition and have her newborn son circumcised, or not?

Actually, the only people who probably care about the answer to that question are Jews, anti-circumcision people, and maybe a handful of Perez Hilton wannabes.  But the only person we’ve seen blog about it has taken an, “I’m Jewish and you are too, but I respect the fact that you might not want to have your baby snipped” stance.

That person is none other than our favorite mommy blogger Mayim Bialik over at Kveller, as she discusses the Oscar-winning star’s possible decision, and asks questions like, “Do celebrity Jews have some sort of obligation to the Jewish community at large to let us know about their observance especially when it puts a “good” face on observance?”

That’s a little meta, considering that it’s being written by a woman who is one of the most Jewish of “celebrity Jews” out there right now, but she’s absolutely right.  I for one don’t care much about litte Portman’s dinky. Why should anybody else?

However, the betting window is open, and we’re gonna give 3 to 2 odds that the little guy is getting the snip.
