In what will hopefully put an end to the lamest Jewish story of the year, the Hasidic newspaper Der Tzeitung apologized for their decision to crop Secretary of State Hillary Clinton out of the now famous White House photograph, and also tried to say sorry on behalf of their readers:

“[Our] readers believe that women should be appreciated for who they are and what they do and not for what they look like.”

The apology went on to say:

“We apologize if this was seen as offensive. We are proud Americans of the Jewish faith, and there is no conflict in that, and we will with the help of the Almighty continue as law-abiding citizens, in this great country of ours, until the ultimate redemption.”

Offensive is a good term.  Also acceptable would have been “ass-backwards,” or “embarrassing for humanity.”  But we will take what we can get, and hopefully this is where the healing begins…or something like that.
