I don't have XM radio, but it seems worth a short post to mention that they're doing an ALL Chanukah station (channel 108) for the duration of the holiday.  (that's December 15-23, in case you aren't sure).  Tune in for the candlelighting each night, and expect to hear from folks like Matisyahu, Al Franken, Dr. Ruth… and a lot (A LOT) of music.

While this might not seem like that huge a deal to some of you… think about how it feels, through these weeks, to listen to non-stop Xmas carols without any choice in the matter.  (I'm affected by this a LOT myself, because I like to listen to the "classic country" station and that's where it's really really bad– Grandma gets run over by a reindeer at least once an hour).

I think it's a pretty great thing to be offered the option of getting sick of our own shlocky music.

And I'm always interested in ways that new technology can open up old traditions.  I've never really considered investing in sattelite radio, but if this turns into a regular Jewish station… I just might.
