As Lincoln Michael of The Faster Times points out, you have about a month left to prepare yourself for The Ask, the newest novel by writer Sam Lipsyte.

For those unfamiliar with any of Lipsyte’s past work, this gives you a month to go out and read his three previous books: Venus Drive, The Subject Steve, and Home Land, and prepare yourself for what is being dubbed as the return of “the comic novel”.

1. You can go over here to check out the first five chapters of The Ask.

2.  Go here, and listen to Lipsyte read his story, “Dear Miss Primatologist Lady in the Bushes Sometimes.”

3. Sam Lipsyte interviewed by Michael Kimball: “Either I’m disgusted with myself for squandering precious hours by not writing, or for writing crap.”
