  • At least 15 are dead in the Philippines after a typhoon hit in the north, causing mudslides and high winds.
  • After nearly 8 years, the crown of the Statue of Liberty will be reopened to tourists beginning on July 4.
  • Fans of the popular reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8 are rattled after allegations that Jon was having an affair. Season Five premieres next week–look out for the drama. [Editor's note: Also look out for the increasingly hilarious tabloid coverage. I particularly enjoy how the alleged mistress' brother sold her out to Us Weekly, saying he overheard her doing it with Jon and it was "Ick. Nast."]
