  • shooting rampage in southern Germany has left 17 dead, including 14 secondary school students and the gunman. The 17-year-old gunman opened fire on the school just after 9:30 a.m. and then drove 40 kilometers to a car dealership, where he killed two more people.
  • In case you were upset that your iPod Shuffle didn’t display your upcoming song for you, Apple has introduced a new talking version of the Shuffle that will announce the next song in 14 different languages.
  • In yet another bizarre shoe-throwing incident, a shoe was hurled at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad today as he was on his way to vote.
  • One of the repairs due to be made to the international space station is for the urine recycling system, which distills urine, sweat, and "other liquids" to be used as potable water for the astronauts. Tasty.
  • Bernie Madoff is due to plead guilty later this week to the 11 felony counts he was charged with in the biggest Ponzi scheme in history. He could face up to 150 years behind bars; Fox Business says "he will almost certainly spend the rest of his life in prison." Unless, of course, he lives to be 220.
