Probably not, but we remember a time, not so long ago, when Mr. Banhart was both:

A. Relevant.

B.  Jocking the Jews so hard, you guessed that he’d be converting in no time.

Those days are behind us.

Mr. Banhart, who has seen his popularity dip in the last two years, is just the latest in a long line of artists who have decided that depriving Israel of art is the answer to ending the occupation.  But we at Jewcy have to wonder: did he do it to spite his Israeli born ex-girlfriend, Natalie Portman?

A few albums ago, Banhart was comprising songs like "Shabop Shalom", and eating vegan challah with his little Nataliechik, and now he’s bailing on Israeli shows three hours before he’s set to hit the stage.

Devendra, if we weren’t totally over you, we’d be somewhat upset.
