Growing up in Detroit during the time of anti-Semitic priest Father Coughlin, and watching the downfall of his once great city were probably two of many things that helped mold Philip Levine into the person who would become one of the most revered poets in the United States.  Now it’s being reported that Levine is the next Poet Laureate of the United States.
