Jews are really good at writing books about bad situations. I’d have to guess it’s because we’ve spent thousands of years getting kicked around and wondering to ourselves things like “If I really cross that parted sea, is anything going to really change?”
We’re also good at making the forthcoming bleakness seem funny. The New York Times talks to Brooks about the book, and the hilarious downfall of America.
