Praying with Lior

(2007, USA, 87 minutes, Beta)

Post-screening discussion with producer and director Ilana Trachtman

“A crowd-pleasing delight! Intimate and involving, fascinating and rather extraordinary!”
-Variety

A New York Times Critics
Pick, this documentary introduces Lior Liebling as he approaches Bar
Mitzvah.  Lior has Down syndrome, and he has spent his life praying
with utter abandon. Told with intimacy, honesty, and humor, this film
is a story of faith, grief, and triumph.

Great Film!

I went to see Praying with Lior last night and it was such an incredible story, very heartfelt. This takes place in the synagogue I grew up going to, and the Rabbi who did the Bar Mitzvah did my Bat Mitzvah.  It was just such a great film, it brought laughter at the same time it brought tears.  I would recommend everyone go to see it. The next screening is going to be at the Cinema Village the full week of August 1st-7th in New York.  The address is 22 East 12th Street.

Definitely worth a viewing, it's a really special story.  Go see it at Cinema Village next week!
