disingenuous

Recent Foxman quotes:

__________________________________

"In light of the heated controversy that has surrounded the issue in
recent weeks, and because of our concern for the unity of the Jewish
community at a time of increased threats against the Jewish people,
we decided to revisit the tragedy that befell the Armenians."

__________________________________

"In meetings with high-level Turkish officials, we have pressed them
to come to grips with the past and speak to what happened."
(fat lie -- in those meetings Foxman agreed to lobby against Armenian Genocide recognition!)

___________________________________

"While we continue to firmly believe that a Congressional resolution on such matters is a counterproductive diversion and will not foster reconciliation
between Turks and Armenians, we will not hesitate to apply the term genocide in the future."
(So it's now suddenly OK for the ADL to apply the term 'genocide' but not so for the US of A!??)

___________________________________

"As long as ADL is an organization committed first to the safety and
security of the Jewish people, we cannot in good conscience ignore
the well-being of 20,000 Jews in Turkey."
(Are Turkish Jews at risk or genocide, or are they being used to promote sinister policy? What does this say about Turkey as an ally)

Facts about Turkey:

-- According to the Pew Research, Turkey is the most anti-American country in the world today (June 2007). It is also one of the most anti-Semitic.

-- As recently as last year, "Mein Kampf" was the top bestseller in Turkey.

-- During WWII, Turkey provided vital raw materials to Germany. Turkey also built Jewish labor camps in Anatolia.

-- If Jews were so welcome in Turkey, how come there are only 20,000 of them left there? Even Germany and Spain have a greater Jewish population.

So much for an 'important' ally...

So what's wrong with this picture? What is Abe hiding? What's the pink elephant in the room? What covert policies are being promoted through denying Armenians their history and suffering, and why?
