finally, someone who gets it

i was very surprised to hear that Mare Winningham converted to Judaism. surprised in a good way, that is. i thought she had fallen off the radar as far as her acting career. news of her conversion was actually the first news i had heard about her in awhile.

as is customary to welcome Jews-By-Choice, i extend my welcome to Ms. Winningham. she joins the ever growing list of Jewish celebrities.

it's really refreshing to see a celebrity embrace Judaism rather than treat it as the trend of the week as countless others have done in the past. remember when photos of a bald Britney Spears first broke and she was seen sporting a Magen David necklace? Judaism is a way of life, not a fad that comes and goes. still, i'd say it's likely that someday Madonna may wind up converting.
