So much is clear: the Israelis hate the Saudis and the Saudis hate the Israelis. That's been going on in one form or another for several millenia. Ho hum. One other thing is clear to anyone who, like myself, has been watching this situation for 50 years: whatever their form of government, the Saudis have been consistently the US's best friend in the region--a lot better friend than, say, Israel. If we can ever get our foreign policy out of the hands of the likes of AIPAC , things may start improving.
