I made several attempts to read Berman's piece on Tariq Ramadan in the New Republic but gave up...my opinion of him as a writer
is very low....convoluted, mish-mash, repetitive, inelegant, weak wea weak....after a few pages, I gave up and went to Amazon to read a few snippets from some of Ramadan's satanical works, and found much of interest there. Whatever his deep agenda might be, at least he can put together a text with a thread one can follow.
