While Virginia is a state with liberal gun ownership and concealed-carry laws, VA Tech is an exception -- no guns allowed. Hence, everyone there is a sitting duck for the Cho Sueng-huis of the world. Perhaps the most ironic thing about this thread is that Israel is not about to restrict the right of law-abiding citizens to own and carry guns, since disarming citizens in the face of Hamas and Hezbollah attacks would be tantamount to national suicide.
How about focusing our attention on the fact that the university and government were so focused on protecting Mr. Cho's privacy with regard to his deteriorating mental state, that his name was not entered into the database of criminals and mentally ill people who are not eligible to purchase firearms, despite having been ordered into outpatient mental treatment?

VA Tech WAS a "gun-free" zone
