Seriously though, when I think about everything that goes into something like planning a wedding, I have to wonder who exactly is it all for? Me? Not really.

Despite all of the "Me centered" mythology that surrounds a bride-to-be on her wedding day, I know that what I truly want from marriage is the chance to build a devoted and loving partnership. All of the festivities and elaborate ceremony would be for others, really, just about everyone except me.

Hmmm... Contemplating all of this has suddenly made the possibility of something like elopement seem a lot more enticing...
