Is Derbyshire's Law Anti-semitic?

Mr. Derbyshire makes the following comment:

"Working back through your questions: Yes, indeed I was, and am, 'afraid of offending Jews.' Of course I am! For a person like myself, a Gentile who is a very minor name in American opinion journalism, desirous of ascending to some slightly less minor status, ticking off Jews is a very, very bad career strategy."

Is it anti-semitic to think this way?  Doesn't it suggest that Jewish people form a powerful monolith that will squash anything that even slightly annoys them?  And BTW, if it's true, that's pretty scary.  And even if it isn't true, it's still scary that people like Mr. Derbyshire think this way, because it would seem to be self-fulfilling.
