Results matter, yes?

Jeff Eyges, maybe it's just that only fully-observant, right wing, isolationist, Orthodox Judaism works, long-term, in the real world. Lasts. Produces results, such as like-minded children. Results matter. You could quarrel with the "only". But it is obviously needed as a sort of anchor, at the very least, a kind of base camp. It is a vault, or safe-deposit box, where the world at large stores and preserves its basic moral foundation. That may seem odd, but it is true. That is where Christian morality got its start, which has produced a much more humane world than the one before it. Yes, it took a very long time, and a lot of struggle. But, all the progressives are quoting Christianity - of course without knowing it. They only remember when religion was used to oppress the working class. But that is not the whole story with religion. Religion also defends the working class, by insisting on a Sabbath, and by upholding the worth of the individual (everybody's prayer is meaningful) and by requiring us to "love our neighbor as ourselves". That leads to "all men are created equal".
