Apparently your ire is not focused on every book ever written in the pre-teen section of the library that focuses on romance, but only those franchises “imposing evil romance on the youth” that are TV-based and produced by Disney. The real tragedy of this whole affair was that there was nothing particularly sexual about that photo spread. The only thing that picture did was make a relatively unattractive girl with minimal talent look like she deserved some attention. Any family would jump at the chance to have their kid shot by the most famous living portrait photographer. This is only a controversy because a company you hate commented (stupidly) on it, and now you get to make hay with some of the most sophomoric critical theory I’ve seen since, well, since I was a sophomore.
