Singularity

You wrote, "There has been a paradigm shift between 2Gs and 3Gs. As the world has validated the suffering and resilience of the Holocaust survivors, the central dynamic has shifted from shame to pride."

I would assume that confidence would come as a byproduct as well to 3Gs.  This may also be as a result of learning that other Genocides transpired during the last century in which we saw the victims going along like sheep to the slaughter.  My own ancestors, the Armenians, were just the first example of such people.  Learning about these other events, perhaps, eliminates some of the stigma associated with being docile and cooperative during a Genocide.  I think the 3Gs have had more opportunities to learn about these other Genocides than did their parents and grandparents.  It also seems to me, anecdotaly, that 3Gs are more likely to view the Holocaust not as a singular event with no parallels in human history, but more as a  specific case of the incomprehensible ability of human beings to do evil.  Perhaps this is a further byproduct of that confidence.
