This is still *most* of the Jewish population in Europe at the time.
Furthermore, Tamar wasn't accusing anyone of "minimizing other people's suffering and death": in a time particularly set aside for remembrance, she is contributing to the memory of all the victims of the Shoah. I really don't see anything polemical about this.
